SPACE AGE HEAT BARRIER

DEVELOPED BY NASA TO COOL THE SHUTTLE
TESTIMONIAL

"I wish to thank you and your company for repairing the sub-standard work on the roofs of the Brandy Distillery at Worcester and the wine store at KWV Upington
respectively. The sub-standard work was done by others.

The Brandy Distillery at Worcester is a high profile tourist attraction. The
ineffectiveness of the previous thermal roof coating (due to product dilution) caused major embarrass-ment for KWV. The first hot days of summer have just passed and
the tour guides remarked on the pleasant cool conditions inside the distillery.

The Wine Store at Upington is used to store wine for sale to KWV members. Due to the high summer temperatures, the heat affected the quality of the wine and at times
dislodged the corks in the bottles.

The temperature inside and outside the store is being monitored. At an ambient temperature of between 37° C - 40° C, the temperature inside the store remained between 25° C - 27° C. (+- 33 %) This is a remarkable improvement and worthy of mention.
From the above it is clear that the Ceratech roof coating has solved the heat problems in 2 major KWV facilities.

Please thank your colleagues for the professional and courteous manner in which the work was completed."

Thanking you.
Yours faithfully,

E H OLIVER

CERATECH High Heat Insulating Coating (HH200) is an emulsion of high-grade acrylic resins in water designed for substrates that reach temperatures of up 200°C without polymerization breakdown. However, the recommended temperature to achieve optimum effectiveness is up to 180°C.  This coating dries by evaporation to yield a tough, velvety non-yellowing water repellent surface with exceptional abrasion resistance and ultra-violet light stability.

Unlike other coatings it contains the added advantage of ceramic particles (minute hollow spheres). These particles are the heat and cold dissipating element in the CERATECH HH200 Coating which gives it the ability to save on heating and cooling costs.

CERATECH HH200 also makes an excellent coating for the protection of personnel from burns by accidental contact on boilers, steam pipes and many other areas.

CERATECH HH200 offers superior corrosion protection compared to conventional insulation.

CERATECH HH200 is white in colour.

CERATECH HH200 insulates and reduces surface temperatures enough for the application of inexpensive top coats.

Minor repairs can be done swiftly and easily with a brush on application to the effected area.

Outstanding Features

·     Non Toxic
·     Corrosion protection
·     Rust & Mildew resistant
·     Moisture repellent
·     Energy savings
·     Abrasion resistant
·     Easy to clean (soap & water)
·     Flame resistant
·     Virtually maintenance free

Application

Surfaces must be dry and free of oil, dirt, flaking rust, and other contaminants which could affect the bond of CERATECH HH200. Surfaces should be roughened with sandpaper or steel wool to assist the bond of CERATECH HH200.

Sand blasting / shot blasting is only necessary when applying CERATECH HH200on to Stainless Steel surfaces.

Apply CERATECH HH200 in multiple coats (5-7) of 250 microns (WFT) each until a total of 1000 microns (DFT) is reached.

CERATECH HH200 requires careful mechanical mixing before application.

CERATECH HH200 is preferably applied by brush but can be applied by airless spray and should be applied evenly without build-up.

Drying time of multiple coats will be assisted if surface is in operation and heated during application and each new coat can be applied as soon as the previous coat is dry to the touch.

Precautions and Warnings

Do not take internally. Avoid contact with eyes. If solution does come in contact with eyes, flush immediately with water and contact a physician for medical attention. Avoid prolonged contact with skin or breathing of spray mist. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. KEEP FROM FREEZING

Coverage

Recommended coverage is 1 m² per litre ( 1000 µm ) DFT – (optimum thickness).
